Looking for outdoor plants that require little maintenance to add curb appeal to your South Bay Home? These garden specimens are perfect for homeowners who might not have the interest in maintaining a complicated landscape. At the same time conserving on water and maintenance.

  • Of course we have the infamous Cacti and Succulents.
Although I am not a fan of these two specimens, there is nothing that thrives in Southern California quite like cacti and succulents. This is because they are native. You will find many. many varieties of both.
Best Location: Plant on the south-facing area of your yard for full sun exposure.
Water your cacti once every two to three weeks, less during the rainy season.
The Succulents should be watered once per week, especially during periods of hot, dry weather.

Have you ever been to Palm Springs and viewed the beautiful Bougainvillea, draping over garden walls or lining our Southern California freeways, you will find bougainvillea everywhere! Find it in the Desert areas, beach areas and all over Southern California. The plant is a native of Mexico, Central and South America,  now the popularity has spread around the world. It comes in a variety of colors shapes and sizes.
It loves the sun so plant on the south side of your property in full sun. Be careful not to over water, as this will stunt the flowers. The plant likes the stress of drought.
